Leonard Clark Sr., CEO of Reaching In Serving Kids, (RISK) founded RISK in April 1995
Beginning as a volunteer youth camp project, RISK has developed into a full scale
organization serving African American youth/families and other youth and families.
Mr. Clark has earned a State Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certification and is also a
member of the African-American Addiction Recovery and Counseling Association of Oregon (AAARCA).
RISK alcohol and drug treatment services include: Substance Abuse Assessment using the
ASSAM PPC2, Treatment Reference Manual. RISK also administers assessment from
"GAIN" Assessments to establish more appropriate treatment planning, case planning,
individual and group counseling in addition to ongoing treatment services.
Current RISK's Services include: Alcohol and Drug Treatment Plans and Assessments, Social
and Gang Transition Counseling, Family Counseling, Case Management and Personal Skill
Building and Development. RISK also provides; Employment Readiness Training, Entrepreneurial
Development and Coaching, Mentoring, Peer Appropriate Youth Camps and Community Resource Networking.
RISK has contracted with Oregon Youth Authority's Minority Services Department since November 2000,
and with the Oregon Youth Authority's Treatment Services department since May 2006. RISK has assisted
youth and adults transitioning from State and County Correction facilities back into their homes and communities.
RISK currently provides services for clients in Clackamas, Marion, Multnomah and Washington counties.
Services are provided for both male and female clients and their families. Some of RISK's service network
include, Culturally Competent Mental Health Care Providers, Employment Referrals and Employment
Developers, Faith Communities, Social Development Communities, The Addiction Counselors
Certification Board of Oregon, Portland Community College and other educational institutions.
Medical and Health Care Providers and various Family and Community Services Networks.
